Port 2: Sydney
We had very specific plans for Sydney, they involved shopping.
As Sydney was the final destination for some passengers they allowed those passengers to disembark the ship first, but even then we were off around 8:30. We hopped in a taxi and headed straight into town and arrived just as the shops were opening. Mum, Dad and I walked around the shops, while Nana, Grandad and Lyn went to Darling Harbour.
Once we finished our shopping, we walked down to Circular Quay and walked around the rocks and under the harbour bridge and back around. We stopped at an Italian restaurant for a late lunch, Appertito, where we had the largest antipasto platter we have ever feasted on, but it was delicious. Once we finished lunch, we ordered an Uber and headed back to the ship.
We didn’t do too much in Sydney, and knew we wouldn’t as we really did want to hit the shops, though I would have preferred more time to wander around them, so we didn’t do too many touristy things, but I think the more touristy things I would have liked to do, would have taken more time anyway, I would have liked to go out to Bondi, and do the walk, head to Paddington, Manly maybe, so we wouldn’t have had time to go do those things anyway, and because we’re in Melbourne on Christmas Day and nothing will be open we had to shop here. We still had a really nice time wandering around Sydney.
Next up our stops in Melbourne and Burnie, Tasmania.
