Christmas Eve Pamper Routine
Christmas Day can be hectic so the night before it can be nice to take some time for yourself and destress so you can enjoy Christmas Day.
I have a four-step routine for destressing, and despite us being somewhere between Sydney and Melbourne on tomorrow night, I will probably take the time, to go through these steps and chill out.
So I start out with a bath (and yes, I can still have a bath despite being on a cruise ship, the liner we are on have a shower over bath situation). I don’t usually like baths, but they are a great way to relax and unwind. I’ve put in a Lush bath bomb, I picked up The Snowman and Frozen from the Christmas collection of bath bombs. I picked these, as there is a lack of glitter, which is a must for me, but also because they have quite refreshing scents, like grapefruit neroli, citric oil and lemon scents, which is nice considering it is summer.
The next step is to do a face mask, I have about nine different masking options that I reach for depending on what my skin is like. I have the three L’Oreal Clay Masks, my favourite is the green one for mattifying and purifying. Then I have three Origins masks, the Overnight Intensive mask, the Charcoal one and the Rose Clay mask. And finally, I have the three Garnier sheet masks as well. If I have time, which tonight I do, then I will probably end up using a mixture of the masks, starting with the L’Oreal Eucalyptus mask while the bath runs and while I’m in the bath being careful of the heat to make sure it doesn't melt off. Then putting on the sheet mask while I chill out for a little before I watch my movie. Then before I go to bed, I will use the Origins overnight intensive mask which my skin loves, I always wake up with lovely hydrated skin.
Then it's movie time. Christmas movies are one of the best things about Christmas, and the best way to chill out before a day of festivities is to continue the Christmas cheer and put on a few Christmas movies. My favourites are Love Actually, Elf, the Santa Claus films, The Holiday and of course, Home Alone. I downloaded a few movies before we got on board so that I had something to watch on Christmas Eve.
And while I’m watching a movie, I’ll probably have a hot chocolate and some Christmassy treats. I have a peppermint hot chocolate recipe from earlier in the month, and in terms of treats, I’ve made Christmas cookies and brownies this month, but those are well gone by Christmas Eve, so an apricot and brandy Christmas mince pie will probably be my treat of choice, if I was at home. On board there are a few different options, so I'll just take my pick from whats there.
What do you do for yoruself to get ready for Christmas?
