What I Do To Treat Breakouts

What I Do To Treat Breakouts

Just like nearly everyone get breakouts. I mean they're basically inevitable, but how you deal with them can matter.

Whenever my face starts to break out there are a few things that I do to heal them and prevent them from getting worse.

When I feel my skin start to break out, I swap out my normal cleanser and rotate between using the Dove deep pure cleanser and the Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser. I find the Dove cleanser really cleans my skin and I feel it gets quite deep into my pores, as well as helping bring up any spots that are under the skin. The the Mario Badescu cleanser has all the right ingredients in it that target spots and helps heal them, and this acne cleanser I find actually works for my skin. Most of the time when I get any spots they are usually to do with stress, so I mainly try to calm them down rather than get rid of them, because they won't unless I find the source of my stress.

Then I'll use an exfoliating toner, I have the Pixi Glow Tonic, just to make sure that the dead skin cells are removed, but also to tighten up my pores and dry out any spots.

Then I just carry on with my usual serums and moisturisers, which includes The Ordinary Niacinamide and Zinc serum.

I also find using a Charcoal mask also helps draw out any impurities in my skin, including blemishes. I have two that I like to use, the Origins Clear Improvement mask and the L'Oreal Pure Clay mask.

The final things I use to target spots is use a targeted treatment. I've tried quite a few of these including the Mario Bedescu drying lotion which just didn't work for me. I've been trying out the Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel and the Skyn Iceland Blemish Dots.

To help heal any scarring I use a Rosehip oil, which I find really helps to calm the redness and reduces the scarring from any spots.

What's your best blemish treatment?
