Check In: Treasury Hotel & Casino Brisbane
Elegant and charming, the only two words you need to describe the Treasury Hotel.
Most people don't realise that there are two Treasury buildings in Brisbane. The one that everyone walks past on Queen Street which is now the casino, would have been the bank. But the other one, located just behind the Casino, is building that housed all the old Treasury workers offices. You can even still tell where some of the offices were.
Established in the 1800s, the building remains almost exactly the same as it was when it was built. Aside from a few modernisations including a new lift, though the features of the old one remain. Imagine large wooden doors, stained glass, chandeliers, high ceiling, Edwardian/Victorian/Elizabethan features and decor.
We stayed in a standard room, but it was massive. Upon entering the room your met with a giant wardrobe, which was also home to the mini bar. To the left is the door to the bathroom, which was also massive. Then you come to the main room, which had amazing high ceilings, two double beds, a table and chairs, a little living space, and a dresser with a television.
The Treasury is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in and would definitely recommend staying here if you are ever in Brisbane.
